It's energy.

Yes, and this is one reason why Cordain had to adjust downward
earlier estimates of paleo carb intake, which didn't allow for
the fact that much of the carb in wild food isn't digestible.
The 1/3 average that he came up with is what's left when you
subtract out the fiber.
