Sigh! I'm sure many of you have read the Dr. Loren Cordain interview at...

http://www.lifeservices.com/cordain.htm

Chock full of fascinating facts and figures, I sent it to an endocrinologist
friend of mine. I was truly saddened by his response:

"Thanks for the information. It takes all kinds to make the world go
around, but often times these people with such ideas are not able to
see the forest for the trees. Grains have been found to be very
healthy and reduce the incidence of cancer in all populations. They
are rarely associated with causing autoimmune diseases with the
exception of gluten enteropathy which is a very rare disease.

Secondly, to make assumptions about populations which barely lived
longer than 30 years is hard to apply to present day populations who
have evolved to adapt to grains, cereals and meats. Milk has always
been a part of the diet in many countries and cultures. Therefore,
man has learned to live longer than in any other time in history.
Beware of tooth sayers who need to publish to avoid parish.

However, the discussion is interesting and stimulating which keeps
these individuals in circulation."

I can't decide if this is sad, laughable or both.
