I just called Lafayette Pharm. re: their CT contrast medium,
"Chee-Tah" (barium sulfate)
The man I spoke with said they couldn't guarantee GF status,
since some things are derived from corn or grain, and they
can't specify WHICH at any given time.
Things I find questionable: sorbitol (he specifically mentioned
he couldn't guarantee THIS ingredient), 'suspending agent',
'flavoring', and saccharin sodium.
OTHER stuff: 2.2% w/w barium sulfate USP, simethicone,
sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, citric acid, and water.
NDC: 59081-523-45
Catalog #: 169715
Does anyone know of a GF contrast medium?
I know if I drink this I'll be sick within an hour or two of
my first dose... & by the time they go to take the CT,
there won't be any barium left in me...
SUMMARY RE: TORADOL & VICODIN.
Vicodin seemed ok- my PDR from 1992 checked out fine.
Others told me it worked for them, too. (3) responses.
Toradol, as I also found out contains 10% alcohol....
somone got sick on it & I also did although it
is a shot and I don't know if that's GRAIN alcohol.....
I still don't know exactly what made me sick-- maybe my french fries-
anyway, people were leary of the Toradol, and one
even told me 'it's really hard on your liver- my doc. eventually
told me, "no more!" for that reason.' only 2 responses on
Toradol.
Sorry this is so late-- please respond about the barium soon-
I'm supposed to have the CT @ 1:00 May 12. That means I have the
rest of today and tomorrow until 5 to figure out what else to do
I'm going to call my HMO now and see what they say about it....
