For about 3 years now, I've had a nearly unending bout with canker sores or
mouth ulcers. After about a year and a half I decided the cause was malt in
the stouts that are popular here in Ireland. Then I found that breakfast
cereals also seem to cause the sores. I switched to oatmeal for
breakfast, but that didn't help, so I quit eating that. Last week I realized
I could not eat rye based crackers. During all this time, I don't think I
have associated wheat with getting canker sores. Is it possible that my
problem could be with intolerance to something in the grains besides gluten,
seeing I don't think I have a problem with wheat?
