After reading the many posts regarding Heinz Ketchup recently, I emailed
Heinz, referring them to this list, the particular message in question
(I sent them a copy), and the fact that many, many people count on Heinz
Ketchup being gluten free.
Today I received an email response, as follows:
Dear Ms. Szuch,
Thank you for visiting the Heinz website. I apologize for the delay in my
response. The distilled vinegar used in the production of Heinz Ketchup is
from corn sources. Therefore, it would be appropriate for gluten-sensitive
individuals.
Thanks again for contacting us.
