This is a rather big stretch. Consider wolves - no technology, social
animal. Definitely had a VERY well developed hierarchy without even
a hint of food processing technology. Your assumptions work only if
everybody hunts or gathers in solitude and away from other members of
the tribe. If not - then the other members can take food away from
you when you find/kill it. Thus the more dominant member gets more
food. No need for storing of food for this to occur.
