Not sure if applicable to humans, but in "The Ultimate Diet" Kymythy
Schultze says re. feeding fruit to your pets:  "Fruit is high in natural
sugar and moisture and is digested very quickly.  It should always be fed at
least a half hour away from other foods or it may speed them through the
digestive system too quickly and cause stomach upset."

I wonder if fruit taken with or right after a meal, in humans, would speed
up the digestive process and cause less vitamins and minerals to be
absorbed.
