Jim,

If I had to hazard a guess, I would be willing to vet the stuff coming in MIME
format is coming off a NON-Microsoft OS.  (Such as UNIX, LINIX, MAC OS, etc.)  Some
of the email clients the operate on these platforms use MIME and HTML as their
default.

Also, this list is NOT being "hosted" by an actual "ListServ" such as YahooGroups or
Topica.  St. John's University is being nice ehough to "host" us, so they probably
don't have the sofistication of the ones mentioned above to "strip" unwanted stuf,
like HTML.

Lastly,  SOME email clients, such as Netscape (Which I use.  I am a Certified,
Card-Carrying Microsoft HATER!!!), allow you to tell it where to begin the "Reply".
Others do not.  (I think the ones that do not are, again, mainly on NON-MS
platforms.)
