From WordNet v1.6:
fad
n : an interest followed with exaggerated zeal: "he always
follows the latest fads"; "it was all the rage that
season" [syn: {craze}, {furor}, {furore}, {cult}, {rage}]
Considering the zeal in William's reply, and the high level
of traffic of this mailing list, it sure sounds like a fad to me.
I thought the site wasn't very negative towards the "caveman diet",
just kind of silly. They certainly didn't provide any evidence
of nutritional lack.
