DORI:
>Glucose harder to achieve by wild game? Puh-LEEZE!
JUSTIN:
Dori, I disagree with this. It is also the reason why I choose a higher
carb, higher protein, lower fat paleo mix of foods. Wild game, don't get me
wrong, is a very healthy food, but it is *not* a good source of glucose.
The body cannot construct glucose from the animal fat, only from the animal
protein - and this is not an efficient conversion.
On a side note, this debate seems to developing into a meat vs. paleo vegan
debate and what's better. IMO, this is like a piano player debating the
quality of black vs. white keys. I use them both. I eat meat, vegies, and
fruit. This way I get protein, fat, and glucose. As far as which one is
better, I don't think it matters b/c ideally a person would be eating all of
these foods.
And as far as ratio (carbs/protein/fat), that will be a genetic
determination, so one specific ratio won't fit everyone. Dori obviously has
achieved great results with a higher meat, lower carb diet. Amaedus is the
other way around. I respond well to eating both in a balanced ratio. This
diet the works best for me, but will not necessary work best for Dori or
Amaedus.
