Hi Everyone,
I recently posted requesting a gluten free hot sauce that I did not have to
mail order. I received the following suggestions:
1. Gluten-free hot sauces purchased from hot sauce specialty stores or
sometimes from gourmet oriented grocery stores. I have several different
flavors, even chipotle.
2. Tostitos brand is gf.
3. I believe that chef Paul ( the one from the TV show) puts one out.He is
the one that looks like Dom DeLouise. I believe that he has a website that
you can verify. I spoke to him at the food show last year and if I remember
correctly it was gf, but please verify with him.
4. Thai Kitchen 'Spicy Thai Chili Sauce' is gluten free. The Thai Kitchen
company is based in Berkely, California, so I am not sure if this is a
regional product or not. I purchase it from QFC food stores in the
Seattle/Tacoma area of Washington State.
5. Frank's Red Hot Sauce and Frank's Red Hot Buffalo Wing Sauce are both
GF. I called the manufacturer who verified it and have used it with no
problem.
Others recommended making your own: Recipes included:
- I make my own using a can of chopped Rotel tomatoes plus a small can of
tomato sauce.
- try tomatoes cooked into a sauce, apple cider vinegar, and horseradish
- Try combining GF ketchup, rice vinegar and Japanese Wasabi, a horse radish
paste in a tube. It's great.
- use Chinese hot oil with whatever sauce you already like.
