The answers were overwhelmingly for "fresh" turkey--no additives, no
injections nor basted with anything--100 percent natural. Most said get
the "never-been-frozen" kind. Another said she has had the best luck
with generic "nothing added" frozen turkeys--usually sold under the
store's label. One said Perdue "fresh" birds are all they use and his
wife reacts violently to any trace--doesn't to Perdue brand. Another
said she has used Butterball and her family has also used Honeysuckle
White. A second person said "don't" use Butterball. Maybe it matters
if it is "all natural." Others mentioned were Honeysuckle, Jenni-O,
Albertsons, and Shady Brook.

Seems the fresh "especially farm-grown" turkey is the best. One said
don't pluck it yourself--hard devils to pluck apparently. Guess I'll
call the meat market and get an order in for the fresh kind. Thanks for
your replies.
