I discuss the difference in CPU slots and sockets, with pictures in the
Troubleshooting Basics, edition #16:

It should explain the differences...  including ZIF, zero insertion force
which means the CPU is secured into the socket with a small lever
on the side...  socket 370 is a standard introduced by Intel for the
new special Celeron CPUs with 370 pins.
