Hi Jim,

>I'am putting together a new system and keep getting a "BIOS ROM CHECKSUM
>ERROR" - message continue's on to say - "detecting floppy drive A media..."
>at which point nothing else happens!

I don't wanna be pessimistic, but I got that SAME exact mesage 1-2 weeks ago
and I had to change to motherboard, since removing the CMOS battery and
putting it back in place didn't do anything good. I tried booting up with a
Win98 Boot Disk, which got me to the "Boot with / without CD-Rom Option"
prompt, but I couldn't use the keyboard to select one of the options!

So if your system is new, I suggest you send back your motherboard and get a
new one. You'll have much less trouble. ;-)
