I work on H.P., Compaq, Packard bell, and other major manufacturers
computers every day and everyone of them use Winmodems. Some of them
actually connect and maintain better connections than non- winmodems
depending on which ISP you connect to. Some times we replace these modems
after lightning hits or what ever and I have never had any trouble
uninstalling them.
The biggest consern is compatability with your ISP's modems. Whatever modem
one buys I suggest they go with the ones their ISP recomends.
