I had a similar problem with a machine locking up only while on line with
Win '98 SE. It turned out to be out of date Video drivers. When Microsoft
released '98SE, a lot of companies didn't have their drivers in to them so
it is short of current drivers. Go to the Web page of your Video card man.
and down load the newest drivers. this should take care of your problems, it
has worked for me on two different units
