Dear List Members,

A friend of mine has a Keynote notebook that is about 4 years old.
It has a DS display. He is beginning to have serious problems with the display.
When he folds open the display for viewing the screen is full of lines and
flickers with each movement of the screen back and forth on the hinges.
He has to get the screen in a certain position in order to get a stable display
and then he has to be careful not to move it at all.

My question: Is the display failing or is it possible to clean the contacts
in the hinge to the screen. In otherwords, is there routine maintenance that
can help this problem or does the unit need to be sent back to the manufacturer
for repair.

Thank you in advane for your help.

Sincerely, John Rinehart
