Hello,
A friend installed a new 20Gb hard drive in her Pentium-S 133Mhz machine.
She has WIN98 SE as the OS and 64mb of EDO RAM. All ran well for about 4
weeks, now she gets "invalid drive specification" upon boot up! I got into
the BIOS setup and find that her version of BIOS (Award pci/pnp ver 1.0A)
supports only an A,C boot sequence. She also mentioned that her system never
did recognize the entire disk size...only 2GB. I don't believe her BIOS
version supports extended disk services though!

When I set the BIOS to auto recognize the Drives, it reports an 8.4 GB
partition. The drive parameters on the new disk is a little confusing to me.
It reads: "Parameters LBA 39876480" I understand the LBA but how does the
cyl, size, and sector break down? I've changed out the signal cables and
double checked the jumper settings on all drives. All seems correct. If I
could get the proper parameters for her drive worked out, then maybe enter
them as User Type in the BIOS! Please forward any suggestions. We appreciate
any and all replies. Thanks everyone!
best regards, Jim Phillips
