I wish to buy a scanner, but I cannot use the standard PP (as I must
leave it in full duplex and the scanner that I wish to buy UMAX1220 does
not support full duplex, so I have to decide whether to buy an LPT card
and a PP scanner, or to buy a USB scanner.
The PP scanner + LPT card is a bit cheaper, but not much cheaper.
According to the company's data, the speed is the same in the USB
and PP scanners. My motherboard supports USB.

Are there any relevant advantages / problames with USB that I should
be aware of? Does it (like in the case of SCSI) reduce the load on the
CPU?

Thanks,

Uzi
