Try this:

1. Go to Contol Panel, Sytem and then select the Device Manager tab.
2. You should see a 'problem' device listed that refers to the Zip drive.
Sorry but I can't remember the exact wording.
3. Remove that device.
4. Reboot.
5. Now run the 'Guest' program
6. Your Zip drive should be detected now
