For sure. About 100% cotton clothes: I too try to wear "natural"
materials, but had a shock when I began visiting Southern New Mexico.
The Mesilla Valley area in New Mexico grows pecans, chili peppers and
cotton. Due to the huge bol weavil (sp?) problem in the cotton fields, the
cotton is regularly sprayed with toxic chemicals. A lot of
environmentalists are really up in arms over the spraying and the secondary
effects it is having on the environment. They also warn people about
wearing clothes made from the cotton that was laden with pesticides.
Back to the fig leaf...or whatever.
