> The Columbus egg is very high in omega-3's (Columbus 660

That Columbus egg sounds very interesting!
I don't understand one thing, however. According to this letter from the
Eggland person, "One of their [the Columbus company's] claims is that their
hens are fed a natural wild-type diet. Their literature says, 'In developing
the Columbus egg, our starting point was to look at the natural diet of the
Jungle Fowl, which is the ancestor of all today's hens.'"
However from the Columbus website they appear to be using a completely
vegetarian diet, much like the Eggland farmers. They seem to be suggesting
that insects were not and should not be a significant part of the natural
paleo-diet for chickens.
