My 6 year old drinks Next Step Soy Toddler Formula (by the makers of
Enfamil), which is dairy-free. Expensive, but worth it since she likes
it. She drinks about two 6 ounce servings a day. She also drinks
Tropicana OJ with Calcium (she hates the taste of other brands). She
also occasionally has Gerber Graduates Fruit Punch (with 6 ounces
containing 30% of the RDA for calcium). Also, don't overlook the most
wonderful, inexpensive beverage of all--water. Drinking water instead of
juice often prevents a child from "ruining" his or her appetite--perhaps
making them more apt to eat more solid, nutrient-containing foods like
fruits, vegetables, and grains. There is no rule that says that a child
must DRINK his or her vital nutrients every day. Best wishes to you!
