Don,

Many who are involved in histo presto have had at one point to make a similar
decision as to following the heart or the money. I have had ample opportunity
to follow the money. I'm not particulalry complaining at this point, but
there have been, and I expect there will be again, some pretty rough times.
Eventually health maintenance becomes more of an issue than money. I'm
stubborn enough to continue to believe I can live my life the way I think I
should live it, not that it always works out the way I want it to, but it is
the daily inspiration of being engaged in life through work that makes it for
me.

Your description of your path through education also strikes a chord for me
as I have long held that one should seek education in those areas that are
illuminated in the consciousness... meaning, if the subject is in your vision
and gets your motor going then learn anything and everything that you can
about it, then move on to the next area of light. This can be a lonely
direction, as it rarely conforms to formal education programs where students
congregate. Per example, right now what I would like is to find someone that
I can chit chat about Rousseau's Confessions with besides my wife.
