Heard a good story--from none other than our esteemed colleague now busy baby
sitting in the Ozarks rather than Frog sitting in Oklahoma, Nebraska, or
somewhere-- about Mr. Cathedral and his Stoneworks. You will no doubt
remember the wonderful good deeds done by way of creating employment for the
disadvantaged yout' of the local community, wherein they would learn to be
master stone carvers and would go around like Pirates fixing up our masonry
patrimony as a result of this wonderful training.
Well, believe it or not, not each and every one of the local denizens were of
Pirate caliber, literarily or eye-hand coordination-wise (although their
spelling skills may have been about equal). And when it came time to, shall
we say, terminate the "employment" of such persons, it just happened that
somebody way up on one of the towers needed a chisel delivered to him.
Apparently, strictly by coincidence, the chisel delivery persons not
infrequently decided that the time had come for them to retire from the
masonry business soon thereafter.
OK, Bye. Gotta get the chilluns in the shower before the Supreme Authority
retoins.
