Assuming your fancy-pants Dodge (or BMW) library can't afford monster
bluestone slabs from A. Mohammed Ottavino (ala the NYPL), I should think you
want the perennial favorite, concrete. Only make sure it's reinforced with
epoxy-coated welded wire mesh (I don't think you can get stainless steel
mesh, but give it a try). If you're feeling a little more flush, you could
do flame-finished granite pavers over a slab. I would avoid any sort of
potentially slick surface (even bluestone), for fear of some dork like me
slipping on your newly-installed sidewalk and suing the shit out of you and
your rich fellow board members, and returning your library to a private
house. On second thought, where is this liberry?
