I no longer have the documentation for the motherboard in my
children's PC. It currently has an Intel Pentium-166 MMX CPU
but I believe the motherboard is capable of a faster
processor.
Here's the information I was able to obtain from looking at
the motherboard:
(off the bottom)
L-9728-8 ML-1 94U-0
(off sticker on side)
"VOID IF REMOVED"
110497-60598
SGI-SC3002
MB5-8STB
Physical characteristics:
4 ISA slots & 4 PCI slots
mixed memory slots (4 SIMM & 2 DIMM)
Socket 7
JP-3
50M/55M/60M/66M/75M (currently selected to 55M)
JP-7
1.5X/2.0X/2.5X/3.0X (currently selected to 2.5X)
(Note - shouldn't this be 3.0X - 3*55=165?)
JP-8
2.8V/2.9V/3.2V/3.3V/3.5V (currently selected to 2.8V)
Questions:
1. Does anyone know the designation of this motherboard &
where I can find more information on it?
2. Is the multiplier (JP-7) currently set incorrectly?
3. What are my CPU upgrade options?
I'm not completely adverse to dropping another motherboard
in the case (full tower AT style case with 230W P/S) but I
believe my options are limited since it is not an ATX style
case.
Thanks for any help you may provide. As always, a long-time
reader but in-frequent user... :)
