I think we tend to forget that in "Forrest Gump" The individual that really
struggles with disability is Lieutenant Dan.  I love the character
development as LD is transformed from cocky, swaggering soldier to pathetic
whiner to man of quiet integrity.  What a treatise on maturity and
acceptance!
