They're the shock troops, the Borg, of the disability movement, work from a
closed cadre, and use scorched earth techniques and self promotional
propaganda.

My disability group once paid round trip to have ADAPT members address our
gathering. They took over the meeting, delayed lunch, disrupted our
business. After we adjourned, I stayed to clean up. They huddled in a
corner. A "representative" approached me and insisted I pay the fare for an
extra member of their team not previously part of the agreement.

Believe they now have a unit in Philly. Guess I better watch my step.

Steve

Betty,

This is blown all out of proportion because ADAPT loves the
media
coverage. I doubt if three were arrested. I went to an ADAPT convention
once and a "leader" of the group told me they judge their success on the
number of seconds air time the get in news coverage. They have no regard
one way or the other on what it is they are protesting. I am now getting
on
my flame retardant
suit!!!
