That is a standard POST error code.

As the error message states, the hard disk controller circuitry has failed.

OR -- if someone has been fooling around inside the box, maybe -- just
maybe -- something is plugged in wrong. But that's a really long shot.

A friend received the following error message while working with Windows
95,1782 Disk Control Failure, and asked if I knew what it meant. Well I
don't. Can anyone help with this?
