Which drive are you trying to boot from, and which cable is attached to the
drive? Are all of the connections to the drive securely attached and in the
correct order according to the color of the connector? Are you trying to
boot from a floppy or to the hard drive which has the OS already installed?
Is the drive recognized in the Promise BIOS during boot? Did you assign an
IRQ to the Video card and the Promise controller in the BIOS according to
the PCI slot each is occupying and change the 'Resources Controlled By' to
manual in the BIOS? Are you using Partition Magic or DOS fdisk and format?
Is the Sound Blaster live card still in the computer and which IRQ's is it
using? Is the boot order set up correctly, i.e.: first boot device -
floppy, second boot device - UDMA66 ? Did you enable 'Force Update ESCD' in
the BIOS?
