If yours throws up Windows Protection Error and, or bluescreen
errors during the "copying files" stage of Win98SE then this might
be related. On a K6-2/400 w/ALI controllers I had a difficult time
installing Win98SE. Like you, I noticed the temp was over 85*C.
Anyway, setup didn't work until I replaced the heatsink w/ a fan.
The entire time I thought the ALI controllers, 100Mhz bus, or MS's
timing loop issue was at fault.
