Hi, If I may begin by saying networking
is not one of my proficiencies. I'm
comfortable installing small 20 station
peer to peer networks, but that's it.
(2)brand new Dell PentIII/500 systems
running Win98SE and 3Com Etherlink cards
can see other stations running Win95, but
not the Dos based Novell server. The other
Win95 stations see the server and the Dell
500 systems(the whole network).
My laptop had a similar problem where it
could not see other Win95 stations after
installing Win98. After adding NetBeui
it worked.
Could this be a similar issue where the
server can't connect to Win98 stations ?
If I use my Win95 laptop it sees the entire
network. If I use my Win98SE laptop, it
can not see the server just like the Win98SE
Dell
stations.
All stations are using the same 3Com adapters
and IPX,NetBeui,TCP protocols with Windows
logon. File and Print sharing enabled. Bindings
have been verified. Starting server and drive
letter also verified. Net Diag was used between
the Win9x stations, normal results. Cards and
cable have been swapped just to be sure.
I would like to verify the server's settings,
but I'm not able to get past the Novell print
server menu. Simply put, I don't have the
tenacity to proceed beyond my level of experience.
The only info I have on the server:
Dos 6.22 system and using Novell.
Pentium system.
Thanks in advance for your help.
