We used to let Corey eat a plain burger with the bun (and we'd add ketchup)
at McD's. But then I found out from their headquarters that some of the
franchises order their buns from local companies, so it was possible that a
bun might have milk in it.

Now, we just order the burger with nothing on it (plain burger, no bun, no
cheese, nothing, as we say) and most times, that's how we get it. We bring
our own safe bun or bread. We always check the order while we're still at the
counter, cuz everyone's human and sometimes they get the order wrong. My fave
mistake was the time they gave us a bun with ketchup and no burger. I
couldn't help but laugh, it was so bizarre. The manager, however, was very
concerned and apologetic.

Anyway, I know we're still risking some small amount of contamination by
letting him eat the plain burger and fries there....but so far, so good.

Rose (mom to Corey, 7, anaphylactic to milk, allergies to dust, mold and
several meds, asthma; and John, 14, allergic to penicillin and ceclor)
