Ah, finally working my way through the email!!  I think you have a point
Bobby.  My best guess (no proof folks, and I'll ask around to see what
others think once this crazy ear infection is done):  there are hormones
secreted during and after pregnancy that relax the musculoskeletal system
(yes gals your hips are really larger after pregnancy and it's not all fat)
as the body prepares for birth.  I'm wondering about the lactation portion
though.
Now that I think of it, maybe I should ask the folks over at Through the
Looking Glass.  While pregnancy isn't one of my specialties it is their's
especially for women with disabilities.
Sorry I didn't think of that sooner.
