Good morning Members And Friends of AAM.

I am pleased to inform you that, yes, as of the 1999 4th Quarterly General
Meeting
on Saturday, December 4, 1999, the African Association of Madison, Inc. is
Y2K
compliant. With the election of a new Executive Committee and an Advisory
Council
Member for the Years 2000 and 2001 respectively, there is nothing to fear
of the
possible dissolution of AAM. We are blessed with the election of the
following:

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE for the Year 2000:

Dr. Ademola Iyi-Eweka, as 1999 Vice President , ascended to the Presidency
Mr. Pierre-Claver Gbedey, Vice President
Ms Adelaide Fiske, Secretary
Ms Eleanor Gbedey, Treasurer
Mr. Abou Bakarr Amara, Financial Secretary

ADVISORY COUNCIL FOR THE PERIOD 2000-2001: Prof. Aliko Songolo

Prof. Songolo replaces Prof Daniel Kunene whose two-year term ended and
the former joins Dr. Ben Weller and Mr. Frank Kooistra whose term continues
to the end of the Year 2000.

Please join me in welcoming and congratulating these newly elected for their
courage, interest, desire and readiness to take the AAM into the new
millennium
to maintain continuity. There is no doubt in my mind, I hope you share
this with
me, that with our collective support, AAM will experience a new level of
accomplishments during the leadership of these honorable ladies and
gentlemen.

By the same token, I am pleased to acknowledge the additional chapter made
to
the AAM's history by the 1999 out-going Executive Committee and the
1998-1999
Advisory Council Member respectively. I hope your humble servant , the
following
1999 out-going Executive Committee members and Prof. Kunene fulfilled the
confidence reposed in them:

Ms Zainabou Cole, Vice President (Dec. 1998-June 1999)
Dr. Ademola Iyi-Eweka, Vice President (June-Dec. 1999)
Ms Ann Marie Dawson, Secretary
Mr. Richard Lowe, Treasurer
Mr. Abdul Conteh, Financial Secretary (Dec. 1998-June 1999)
Ms Elizabeth Ndonyi, Financial Secretary (June-Dec. 1999)

Our hats are off to the out-going Executive Committee members and Advisory
Council member for their respective contributions to upholding the goals,
objectives
and constitution of the African Association of Madison, Inc.

Additionally, we are very grateful to the 1999 Electoral Committee with
whose
constitutional guidance and assistance the December 4, 1999 transition was
possible. Please join me in congratulating the following members of the
committee:

Mr. Joe Brewoo
Mr. Godwin Amegashie
Ms Dzigbodi Akyea
Dr. Ikechukwu Enwemnwa

Most importantly, we acknowledge with gratitude and appreciation the
continued
contributions that members, friends of AAM and the entire Madison community
made toward the existence of the association over the years. We applaud
and urge
your membership and participation in the association as it compliantly sails
into the
new millennium with its new leadership.

Cheers and Happy Holidays!
