Hi everybody,

(the message is not too long, so if you wish to help, please read it all
before replying.  thank you)

Yesterday, a customer of mine brought his PC in order to fix a small problem
in the BIOS (boot sequence and stuff like that).  After I changed the boot
sequence, I Saved & Exit.  But when the computer rebooted, I got a long Beep
and two short Beeps, and the computer was no longer booting.  He's got a QDI
Legend V motherboard, a Trident 9750 4Mb AGP video card, a Pentium II-333
CPU and 64Mb of SDRAM.

I tried removing the MB's battery for 3 minutes in order to reset it, then
plugged it back in, but same results.  I then changed the video card for an
old Trident PCI 1Mb, but I got the following error messages:

- When I boot without a floppy I get this:
   BIOS ROM checksum error (not sure about the "checksum"
   word, but there was a word before error)
   Non System Disk.  Insert a system disk and press enter.

   I inserted a Win98 Boot Disk and tried pressing enter, nothing
   happened (keyboard not responding).

- When I boot directly WITH a floppy drive, I get the following:
   BIOS ROM checksum error (not sure about the "checksum"
   word, but there was a word before error)
   [The system seems to boot, then gets to the "Boot with/without
   CD-Rom Support" because of the Win98 Boot Disk inserted in
   the floppy drive, but once again, the keyboard - which is plugged
   in the appropriate slot - does not respond].

In BOTH cases, when booting, I don't get the single Beep nor the Video card
Identification, nor the Memory check... it directly goes to the Floopy Boot.

Anybody has an idea?
