          Tracy,
I work at a state job and I have attendants to help my wife and
myself with getting up in the morning and in the evening also.
If you are on SSI then the government will pay for attendant care
covered through Medicaid. It is through a program called 1619
and it allows you to work for a decent amount of money and still
retain Medicaid if you need Medicaid (i.e.attendants,
          medications, etc.) to be employed.
If however, you are only receiving SSDI then you cannot have 1619
because it is only for people on SSI right now.
Congress is working on a bill to make the two systems more
unified but as of now, if you are on SSI you should have no
problems with attendants while working (if you need them to work,
getting up in the morning, etc).
If you need anything more in this area, you can contact me
privately at: [log in to unmask]
