Hello,
I am new to the list and I thought I would introduce myself. I am a 23 year
old American living in Poland. I have not been diagnosed with Celiac's or
gluten intolerance. I only found out about it as I was leaving for Poland
and I was tired of seeing doctors by the time (I have been seening many
different ones for about 3 years). Though I haven't quite managed total GF,
I have come close at certain times. Close enough that I notice the
difference when I eat a lot of gluten. I can actually control the intensity
of my symptoms by what I eat. If I want to make them worse, I know what to
do -- eat lots of bread or cakes. the next test would be to manage GF for a
long period of time and see if the symptoms go awya I suppose. I am also
clearly sensitive to milk and pork. My symptoms are not as bad as what I've
heard. I get lots of fatige, dry, itchy skin, dry eyes, sore throat,
non-bacterial prostatitis, joint pain, constipation, etc. I can still "make
it through" everyday life, but it is tough.
Anyway, I have a question. Today I let myself have gluten to see what
happens. When I eat jsut one cake, I get nauseated. When I have just a
couple sips of beer, I get nauseated (though other alcohol does not). I
don't get nauseated so quickly with bread, but I get a sore throat almost
imediately after eating bread. Is this a sign of gluten intolerance?
Allergy? None of the above?
