Dear Listmates--
I had every intention of writing sooner and perhaps to all of you who
have so valiantly carried on with the thread of friendships and quality
of life while maintaining a gf diet. It is quite doubtful that I'll get
anyone written personally now, but wanted to say just a few things to
everyone.
There is nothing inherently bad about the discussion I've been following
regarding my post on lost friendships and quality of life as long as
everyone gains something from it. Personally, I have not found anything
posted to me or about me offensive, so if any of you were trying to
offend (which I seriously doubt), you'll have to be a bit more blunt. ;)
I also don't wish for anyone to take offense at a topic that is
obviously very personal and individual. Some have gained friends, gotten
married, lost friends and been divorced. My only desire by posting what
I did was to bring attention to the fact that becoming gf is not only
about food - it affects all of us in different ways and to different
degrees. We may not always share another's experiences, but that's not a
bad thing.
After reading all of your posts, I had to delete all of the messages -
my computer was doing very strange things every time I downloaded each
day's postings. I am sorry I had to do that, but I am currently grieving
the sudden death of a very close friend who was my best friend's
boyfriend - and frankly, I'm pretty exhausted and can't keep up (nor can
my computer, evidently!) The funeral is tomorrow, so perhaps in a week
or two I'll feel more like spending time with my cyber friends. In this
very worst of times, I've regained one lost friend and that is a good
thing.
Ayn.
