Dear List:

I have been subscribed to your list for almost 2 weeks which was when I
started going GF due to the suspicion (suggested by my mother - a retired
nurse) that I had CD. My blood tests did not confirm CD and I have not
had a biopsy. But, within 24 hrs of going GF, I began to feel like real
person again in body and soul - what a transformation! Unfortunately, my
doctor knows very little about CD, and so I'm trying to piece together the
many details about going completely GF and also about the long-term
consequences associated with CD. I'm a graduate student on a not-so-great
insurance plan. I can educate myself on the dos and don'ts - that's
not the issue. My questions for those of you "pros" are : How important
is it to 1) have a biopsy taken to confirm CD? and 2) visit a dr.
regularly that knows a fair amount about CD?

I will summarize responses I receive.

thanks for your help

-Michelle (in Socorro, New Mexico)
