Just thought I would start a conversation on the topic I have seen in
numerous posts lately.
Posters have said the GF diet is healthier. Healthier than what? I am
lucky that I only have to contend with a GF diet and no other restrictions.
Previous to being diagnosed I made most of my food from scratch so there was
very little change to it. I still "binge" on junk foods, only eliminating
those that are not GF. I still eat sugar, candy, fats, etc. etc. etc.
I'm not sure what aspect of the GF diet is healthier.
I never was a fan of bread, cakes, cookies, etc. When I went out for dinner
it was steak or chicken, baked potato and salad as my first choice. I could
care less about pizza and pasta as I have always been a meat and potatoes
person. My most favorite fast food meal was stir fry veggies and steamed
rice or fried rice. Now I just stick to the steamed rice using my own soy
sauce. Other fast foods include baked potatoes and salads. Never was a
burger fan unless I made them at home.
Posts detailing what is healthier about a GF diet and compared to what kind
of diet will be summarized.
Thanks.
