Dear Mara,
I have had a similar reaction twice when I had to have crowns. I asked my
dentist about it and he didn't think the material had any gluten in it, but
wasn't sure. I especially asked him to check about the cement used in the
permanent crown, and he reported that there were no bad ingredients. I also
haven't seen this listed anywhere, but wondered if others had experienced
it.
