Hello,
I've recently been diagnosed with Celiac Sprue and I'm having a real
hard time sticking to the diet. My big problem is finding where to buy
groceries. I love pastas and bread and there isn't a grocery store in
my town (Cedar Rapids, IA) where I can find anything that I can eat.
There is a co-op health food store in Iowa City (20 miles away) where I
can get bread and pasta, primarily brown rice bread which I find very
heavy and also very expensive. Is there some other alternative? I miss
being able to whip up a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwhich on a "lite"
bread or fix a chilli mac for lunch. This is all so new to me and from
what I've been reading on the websites I don't know if I can do this and
to be honest I"m scared now. My wife has been the absolute best...even
trying a GF diet herself (when she goes on that diet she gets sick), but
I could use someone to talk to who knows what I'm going through.
Sorry for my whinning,
Dave Yancey
Cedar Rapids, IA
