I have found http://www.mytalk.com a bit difficult to navigate. The lynx
browser missed needed links and a friend reported that a new version of
Navigator was needed. I did register using MSIE 4.01 and have read e-mail
by dialing their toll free number. You can reply and send a .wav file as
an e-mail attachment to friends who have sound cards.

If you are at a pay phone, you can listen to about 30 seconds of
commercial messages and then dial a local or long distance number for no
additional charge.

Here is part of the ad I first got about this service.

Access your EMAIL
from any phone
for FREE

myTalk is going to change the way you think about communicating. Now you
can listen and reply to e-mail messages for free without having to log
onto the Internet. You can also make as many quick free phone calls as
you want to anywhere in the U.S.

Just dial your toll free number from any phone, and ask myTalk to get
your messages or call a friend. It's easy, it's FREE and you don't even
need to remember touch-tone commands. You just talk to myTalk.

Get your e-mail in the office, in the mall, or on the golf course! Call
your mom or your buddies for free. Because myTalk understands plain
English, all you have to do is ask.
