hello,
as some have already indicated, the ny times on line has changed it's
login proceedure; for the worse. below are the steps i use, which might
be of some help to others by indicating the direct route for login:
1. use the url:
http://www.nytimes.com/auth/login
2. this starts with the id entry field, followed by the password.
3. next is a field which can be ignored and passed over to the submit
button.
4. after hitting the submit button, hit the y key 4 times to pass through
various cookie prompts.
5. you are now at the main page. i use the text version and find it at
this point by doing a search for it. the text version has much less
clutter and superfluous links.
6. i use commo for my communications program and have written a macro to
do the above.
