Gerald

Here on the East coast of Scotland the weather is very wet. We have had some
very servere gales and there has been some structural damage with many homes
being without power for a few days. Normally we have very cold but dry
conditions so the rain has been unexpected (it is the West coast that gets
all the rain usually). Dundee is known as the sunniest city in the UK but
not the warmest. In the Highlands there has been some very welcome snow and
the local ski slopes have been busy, unfortunately the heavy snowfall and
mixed weather has caused some dangers with a party of walkers being killed
at the weekend.

I hope that your project is successful and that you are able to get a broad
picture of the global changes to the weather that appears to be taking
place.

Ian
