  I have seen reports that Release Candidate 2 has been sent to beta
testers -- I have not actually received it yet.  Bill Gates recently
said that it was still on schedule, but I think that's for a general
public "launch" sometime in the new year.
  I'm sure that Microsoft will spend lots of money trying to make
sure that when it's launched, everybody hears about it.
