The new i815 chipset from Intel (from what I heard, available to motherboard
manufacturers in quantity next) month will support ATA 100+. It's an
enhancement to ATA 66.
Opinion follows: It's about time and I hope it meets our expectations. CPUs
keep getting faster and faster but the real bottleneck as far as I'm
concerned is data transfer to/from the hard drive.
