More than ever...

What happened was that, back in August, they switched to different
software for running the list, causing subscribers to be unsubscribed
temporarily.  Unfortunately, the current list of subscribers was lost
in the shuffle, and they only had an older subscriber list to work
with, so anyone who was on that list was re-subscribed, while anyone
who wasn't, wasn't.  They then asked all of us to notify anyone we
know who may have been bounced and tell them the new subscription
instructions.
